Family and friends gathered on Friday to remember a man from New Rochelle who was killed by an alleged drunk driver.
Fernando Izazaga, 27, died 12 days after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. Family members say he was walking home after visiting his girlfriend when he was hit by a car at the intersection of Huegenot Street and Memorial Highway.
A Yonkers man, Johnny Gialanella, 27, is charged with vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
At funeral services on Friday, loved ones wore white instead of black to remember the good times they had with Fernando and honor the positivity he radiated. Their message to drivers is: think twice before drinking and driving.
