A bald eagle is on the mend, thanks some good Samaritans.

The bird was hit by a car on the Hutchinson River Parkway in New Rochelle Thursday night.

Several drivers stopped to help before police and an animal expert arrived.

The bird is being cared for by a private rehabilitator.
