The Department of Agriculture says food prices are up nearly 8% from
last February, the largest increase since 1981.
Hitting your wallets the hardest are groceries.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says the cost shot up 10% over the past
year. Essentials such as eggs, flour and milk rose at least 11%.
