The name of the Tappan Zee Bridge has been changed to Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, but not all signage reflects that.
Some signs identify the bridge as the Mario Cuomo Br, others as Gov Mario Cuomo Bridge. Now, the Department of Transportation is working to make sure that all signs include the governor's middle initial.
The governor's office says it wants to make sure that all signs are uniform, especially for GPS navigation systems.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day says the cost of adding the former governor's middle initial to the signs is "absolutely not worth the money."
A spokesperson for the governor says the cost will be minimal and that state employees will make the changes with materials already on hand.
