Residents near Betts Avenue are infuriated after a construction crew left open a fire hydrant valve causing flooding, a witness says.
The flood leaked into basements causing two feet of standing water in some homes and front yards. City workers stopped the leak and Bronx residents are hoping the water drains soon.
City officials are investigating the incident and looking into the construction crew allegedly at fault. The construction company declined comment.
