3 people injured after tree falls on pedestrians and car in Teaneck

Three people were taken to local hospitals by two ambulances, according to a Teaneck police officer.

A tree fell on pedestrians and a car around 8 a.m. Thursday on Sussex Road in Teaneck, injuring several people.

One person was walking on one side of the street and two others on the opposite side when a branch came down and trapped all three.

A southbound Tesla was also struck—the branch damaged its roof and windshield, but the driver was not hurt.

Three people were taken to local hospitals by two ambulances, according to a Teaneck police officer.

An adult female from Bergenfield was the most seriously injured, though her injuries are not life-threatening.

Sussex Road has reopened.
