A car slammed into a transit bus in Torrington, forcing the bus off the road and into a nearby telephone pole late Monday morning.

Police said the crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Kennedy Drive and Torringford West Street. Images from the scene showed the bus with significant front-end damage after striking the pole.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police said Kennedy Drive eastbound is passable, but drivers can expect delays.
