Police: 21-year-old man killed in high-speed crash in Greenwich

Police say that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, an officer clocked Franklin Sousa-Filho traveling about 50 mph in a 25 mph zone in a Lexus. The officer said the car went through a red light at Delevan Avenue and Frontage Road.

A 21-year-old Greenwich man has died and another person was hospitalized after a crash in Greenwich over the weekend near the Byram Shore Tennis Courts.

Police say that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, an officer clocked Franklin Sousa-Filho traveling about 50 mph in a 25 mph zone in a Lexus. The officer said the car went through a red light at Delevan Avenue and Frontage Road.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed and hit a utility pole.

Police say the other person in the vehicle sustained serious injuries.
