LIRR gang foreman suspended, must pay restitution for time theft
The MTA Inspector General's Office says through GPS records and surveillance, they found that on 23 dates, the unnamed gang foreman spent over 35 hours away from assigned work sites.

The MTA Inspector General's Office says through GPS records and surveillance, they found that on 23 dates, the unnamed gang foreman spent over 35 hours away from assigned work sites.
The report says he also logged that he visited the LIRR locations 12 times when he actually did not.
The investigation is part of a multi-year review of time abuse at the LIRR that included cloned ID cards by gang foremen and others to get paid for time they didn't actually work.
The LIRR has added additional camera, more supervision, and spot checks to try and curb the "culture of fraud," previously reported on by News 12.
The gang foreman has been suspended without pay for 60 days, demoted for 6 months and required to pay $750 in restitution.
