A driver was shot while traveling on Route 8 in Derby and taken to the hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries, state police said.
The victim was transported to Griffin Hospital for treatment.
During the response, Route 8 was temporarily shut down between exits 13 and 12A.
The roadway has since reopened.
State police said no additional information is being released at this time.
