A coffee business in Belleville is drawing attention for its mix of creativity, skate culture and bold flavors. Owner John Cozzarelli says he comes from a background of skateboarding and music and wanted to blend those influences into the business. He said the goal is to keep everything authentic and human.

The little blue trailer that houses Cozz Coffee has been parked in Belleville or on the road at farmers markets and festivals for the past few years. It has become known for its flavors and handmade style.

Cozzarelli said his menu includes drinks such as cherry blossom and birch beer. Customers praised the flavors during visits to the trailer.

He said the art on the bags and cups is hand drawn and sometimes imperfect, which reflects the anti‑advertising look he admired in skateboarding.

His self‑roasted coffee is now sold in shops and restaurants across New Jersey. Cozzarelli said the approach is rooted in trying new ideas and doing things his own way.
