Incumbent Huntington supervisor and Republican Ed Smyth has won re-election.

The Huntington Republican Committee has called the race for Smyth despite a lead of just about 600 votes.

Suffolk Democratic Committee Chair Rich Schaffer says he doesn't expect absentee ballots will make up the difference for the challenger Cooper Macco.

In Riverhead, just 21 votes separate Democrat Jerry Halpin and incumbent Republican Town Supervisor Tim Hubbard. Halpin says he likes his chances.
