Hundreds of people made their way to the fourth annual Weeksville Juneteenth Food Festival.

More than 30 Black-owned businesses are featured and offering an array of foods and drinks.

The Juneteenth holiday commemorates the end of slavery.

Weeksville was one of the largest free Black communities established in New York after slavery was abolished, and organizers said having the celebration at this site honors the legacy of the community.

"Ideas about freedom, democracy, civic engagement, they all come together here at Weeksville and to have the Juneteenth food festival here, it's a beautiful thing," said Raymond Codrington, president and CEO of Weeksville Heritage Center.

The festival was co-hosted by Black-Owned Brooklyn, which highlights Black-owned businesses in the borough.
