Hudson Valley housing sales were up before onset of pandemic
Housing sales were strong in the first quarter in the Hudson Valley, but a robust year has now been cast in doubt by the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to One-Key Multiple Listing Service, single family home sales jumped 7% in Westchester, nearly 9% in Putnam, and 15% in Rockland.
The median sale price of a house was up nearly 7% in Westchester to $640,000.
But in a matter of weeks, the virus has significantly impacted the local economy and unemployment numbers.
It's hoped the strong numbers the region saw in the first quarter will result in a strong path back to normal sooner rather than later.
