Noah Syndergaard will have Tommy John surgery, out until 2021

Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard has a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will have Tommy John surgery, the team announced Tuesday.
ESPN's Jeff Passan says Syndergaard's procedure would keep him out through April 2021 at earliest, but that he could very well be out until the summer.
It is unclear how Syndergaard suffered the injury. The Mets last played March 11.
Syndergaard was hoping to rebound this season after posting a 4.28 ERA in 2019, the highest of his career.
