Truck crash knocks out power to Ossining neighborhood

Posted: Updated:

A truck crash in Ossining knocked out power to one neighborhood and caused traffic backups during the morning commute today.

The truck hit a utility pole overnight on Route 9 near Havel Street. The entire top of the cargo holder was sheared off, and power lines were knocked down.

Traffic between Route 133 and Snowden was closed for hours, but all southbound lanes and one northbound lane have reopened.

Nearly 400 customers are without power. Con Edison expects to have power restored by this afternoon.

The driver was not seriously injured.
