The story of one of New Jersey's most prolific serial killers, dubbed the “Angel of Death,” is reportedly coming to Netflix.
Charles Cullen, of West Orange, admitted to killing as many as 40 patients in hospitals across the state, as well as Pennsylvania. According to reports, Cullen was a registered nurse who killed patients with lethal injections at multiple hospitals before he was caught.
Cullen was arrested back in 2003 after killing a patient at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Deadline.com says Netflix is preparing to pay $25 million for the rights to a movie adaptation of Charles Graeber's "The Good Nurse," a nonfiction book about Cullen.
A release date for the film has not yet been announced.
Cullen is serving 11 consecutive life sentences in New Jersey State Prison for the New Jersey killings. He faces another six life sentences for the killings in Pennsylvania.
