McDonald's auctioning off $100K Shamrock Shake featuring hand-placed jewels
McDonalds will auction off a $100,000 Shamrock Shake in honor of the 50th anniversary of the iconic St. Patrick’s Day-themed treat.
The company announced that the golden milkshake will be auctioned off beginning Tuesday, February 25, at 5 a.m. and end March 6.
McDonald's says the lucky shake has been appraised at nearly $100,000 and features a total of 150 hand-placed diamonds and precious stones.
All proceeds from the winning bid will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities, the company says.
"The Golden Shamrock Shake is the most lavish way to enjoy Shamrock Season, and no design element was overlooked," the press release says. "A team of seasoned jewelers spent over 140 hours bringing this memorable item to life with significant attention to detail such as hand-placed jewels and 18K gold."
