It's official, Barneys New York is closing for good on Feb. 23.

The New York Post says 719 employees will lose their jobs when the flagship store closes at Madison Avenue in New York.

Also closing is its Chelsea store and its outlet at Woodbury Common in Central Valley, New York.

Saks Fifth Avenue is reportedly planning to open Barneys boutiques within its own department stores nationwide in September.
