Monsey man charged with burglarizing Rockland Jewish middle school

Posted: Updated:

Clarkstown police have arrested a Monsey man they say broke into a Rockland Jewish middle school.

Police say Aharon Greenfeld, 34, forcibly opened locked doors and stole several items at the Ashar Adolph Schreiber Hebrew Academy in New City.

A list of stolen items has yet to be compiled at this time. Investigators says it appears to be a crime of opportunity with no undertones of hate.

No one was in the school at the time of the burglary.  Classes on Wednesday were canceled.

Greenfeld faces several charges including burglary and grand larceny. He was sent to Rockland County jail and is due back in court on Friday.
