Can you do it? Skiers get free Mountain Creek lift tickets for reciting Gettysburg Address from memory

Wednesday, Feb. 12 marked President Abraham Lincoln’s 188th birthday. Lincoln’s 279-word Gettysburg Address given after the American Civil War is considered to be one of his greatest speeches.
To honor Lincoln’s birthday and his contribution to the country, Mountain Creek Ski Resort in Vernon started an annual tradition to give free lift tickets to skiers who are able to recite the Gettysburg Address from memory.
News 12 New Jersey’s Brian Donohue hit the slopes to see which skiers were up for the task and to see how much of the speech he himself was able to remember.
