Eastchester 5th graders throw Valentine’s Day orchestra concert

Posted: Updated:

Students from two fifth grade orchestras held a Valentine’s Day concert for Eastchester seniors.

Dozens of students from Anne Hutchinson and Greenvale Elementary School took part in the annual Valentine’s Day concert, playing Irish fiddle tunes, songs from Bach and even Bing Crosby’s “Let Me Love You Tender.”

The senior citizens were also invited to sing along to some of the songs.

“I just want them to see how good it is and how fun it is playing in a group with a bunch of other kids,” Greenvale Elementary School student Sarah Jean said.

Before heading back to class, the students handed out cards to the seniors.
