Officials release names of people involved in funeral home shooting

Posted: Updated:

Officials have released the names of the three people involved in a shooting outside of a funeral home that left one man dead.

Haverstraw Mayor Michael Kohut says Noe Hamer, the general manager of T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, was fatally shot Thursday by former employee Jerry O'Sullivan.

Officials say O'Sullivan shot Hamer multiple times before Christian Delisio, a civilian, pulled out his handgun and shot O'Sullivan in an attempt to stop him.

Police say they had to eventually use a Taser on O'Sullivan after he refused orders to put down his gun.

Officials say O'Sullivan was fired from the funeral home hours before the incident and say this was a targeted workplace violence crime.

The funeral home was closed Friday.

O'Sullivan was taken to the Westchester Medical Center for his injuries.
