Doctor: Monsey Hanukkah stabbing suspect not fit to stand trial

Posted: Updated:

A psychiatrist exam of the man charged in the Monsey Hanukkah stabbings says he is not fit to stand trial.

A report by Dr. Andrew Levin shows Grafton Thomas’s present status is consistent with a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

Levin was hired by Thomas's attorney.

The U.S. Attorney's Office plans to have its own psychiatrist examine Thomas as well.

The 37-year-old Greenwood Lake man is charged in the stabbings of six people at a rabbi's home last December.

He also faces state charges.
