The Lopez family of Red Bank was featured on News 12 New Jersey in December due to the fact that the family’s three children all share the same birthday, even though they were born years apart. During the story, at least two of the children said that they wanted to meet Ellen and be featured on her show.
DeGeneres saw the segment on News 12 and decided to surprise the family with gifts during her “12 Days of Giveaways” segment.
But that’s not all. DeGeneres surprised the family once again by having them on her show in an episode that aired on Tuesday. And she had more surprised for them.
“I’ve been saving money too and I thought I should give you the money that I’ve been saving,” DeGeneres said and presented the family with a check for $50,000.
DeGeneres said that she wants the money to help the Lopez family do everything they want to do in life.
