Woman accused of tossing cat down trash chute

A White Plains woman is accused of tossing her cat down a trash chute.

Officials say the cat named Cotton was found inside of a black plastic bag by maintenance workers back in June.

Her owner, Romy Goldsmith, allegedly kept the cat there for eight hours.

The cat did not suffer any serious injuries.

Goldsmith is charged with animal cruelty.
