3 Orange County eateries among those on NY's dirty restaurant list

Posted: Updated:

A new report outed the state's dirtiest restaurants, including some located right in Orange County.

The state Department of Health flagged dozens of Orange County restaurants for serious violations ranging from dirty conditions to rodents.

The top 3: Goshen Chinese Kitchen on West Main Street, Cup and Saucer in Pine Bush and Dominique Eats in Port Jervis.

The Goshen Chinese Kitchen was cited with nine critical violations for unsafe food storage, dirty cloths and more.

Inspectors tagged Cup and Saucer in Pine Bush with six critical violations, alleging workers were smoking and eating in the kitchen, and that insects and rodents were found.

And Dominique Eats, located on Route 209, was cited for cracked and dirty eggs, improper food and chemical storage and the possibility for cross-contamination.

According to state records, all three restaurants have since corrected the violations given between October and January.

"I think it's unfair. A lot of the violations written aren't what they seem to be," says a manager at Cup and Saucer.
