New medical center opens in southern Rockland CountyPosted: Updated:
If you live in southern Rockland County, you have a whole new option for medical care that also happens to be a lot closer to home.
The new Bon Secours Medical Center opened its doors today off Dutch Hill Road in Orangeburg.
The center, part of the Bon Secours Medical Group, will offer a range of services, including primary care, internal medicine, and general and minimally invasive surgery.
The center also includes a critical care component and sleep-medicine department. “This is a big deal because we're opening up access to patients here in this section of the county. In the southern part of Rockland, we feel that we could provide better compassionate care, better access to care, and convenience for patients as well,” says Dr. Mary Leahy, of Bon Secours Charity Health System.
Teresa Kenney, who was sworn in last night as Orangeburg town supervisor and Rockland's first female town supervisor ever, attended the event -- her first in her new role as supervisor.
