Cuomo wants movie theaters to be able to sell alcohol

Posted: Updated:

There is push in Albany to make it easier for movie theaters to sell alcohol.

Currently only theaters with full kitchens and tables inside screening rooms can legally serve alcohol.

The plan would allow adults with tickets to PG-13 movies or higher to buy beer, wine and liquor.

It's just one of the proposals in Gov. Andrew Cuomo's 2020 State of the State.

Cuomo says the 19th proposal will help give theaters more revenue as well as an additional business opportunity for craft producers.

Cuomo’s State of the State Address will air live on News 12 +, News12.com and News 12’s Facebook page at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
