Gunman sentenced to 25 to life for murder of Yonkers manPosted: Updated:
The gunman who shot a Yonkers man in front of a Bronx school has been sentenced to prison.
Back in 2014, prosecutors say Dwayne Reid rented a U-Haul to Lamont Smith to move machinery for his business.
That's when Reid, of Larchmont, shot Smith in the back of the head and took off.
What prompted the shooting in the first place is still a mystery. "There was nothing. There was no motive, nothing was ever put forward. It's still a mystery," says Defense Attorney Troy A. Smith.
Reid was sentenced to 25 to life on murder in the second degree and 10 years on criminal possession of a weapon.
