Police: 2-month-old boy critically injured in 2-car crash in North Patchogue

Police say a 2-month-old child has been critically injured in a two-car crash in North Patchogue Saturday night.
They say Deliela Gonzalez, 33, was in the right lane on North Ocean Avenue when she tried to make a U-turn in her Honda sedan. News 12 is told a Mercedes in the left lane crashed into her, causing both cars to slide across the street and onto the northbound shoulder.
Police say Gonzalez, of Copiague, had her four children with her at the time. Her 2-month-old, whose name is Jayden, was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital before being transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital.
Gonzalez and her other three daughters, a 13-year-old, an 8-year-old and a 4-year-old were hospitalized with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Mercedes also suffered minor injuries.
News 12 spoke with Jayden's father, who says his son suffered head trauma, a spinal cord injury and has swelling in the brain. He says so far, his son's condition has not improved.
"They can't do anything until tomorrow morning," said Kevin Owens. "He hasn't shown any signs of life yet, but everybody's praying. I didn't think it was real. I was in the city. I still don't think it's real. I have to find reality and strength somewhere."
Police say Jayden was in his car seat and they're investigating this as an accident.
