Town of Huntington to increase enforcement for handicapped, fire zone parking

The Town of Huntington announced Thursday it's increasing its enforcement for handicapped and fire zone parking violations for the holiday season.
Huntington Public Safety officers patrol roughly 260 properties throughout the town year-round.
This season they are checking to make sure that disabled permits are clearly displayed and valid.
They are also checking to make sure nobody has left their vehicle in a fire zone.
The town says parking without a permit in a handicapped space won’t save you much time and it will cost you money. They say fines start at $200 and go all the way up to $630.
