Police: Yonkers driver charged with fatally striking 3-year-old

A Yonkers man faces charges after fatally striking 3-year-old in Manhattan, according to authorities.

Police say Jaime Sabogal, 59, hit the child in a stroller while he and his mother were using the crosswalk at the intersection of East 116th Street and First Avenue.

The child was pronounced dead at the hospital. Sabogal remained on the scene.

Sabogal now faces several charges, including aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
