Wet, heavy snow causes school delays and sloppy morning commutePosted: Updated:
Wet, heavy snow is causing some school delays and will likely slow this morning’s commute across the Hudson Valley.
News 12 meteorologists say snow is expected to continue through the mid-morning but is already starting to taper off from west to east.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for northern Westchester until 11 a.m.
By the time the storm moves on, a coating to 2 inches of accumulation is expected for southern Rockland and Westchester counties and a coating to an inch north and west of those areas.
As the storm pulls away, breaks sunshine will help roads dry out this afternoon. Officials caution that slick road conditions are possible for the afternoon commute.
Highs for both today and Thursday will only be in the 30s but a breeze will make it feel like in the teens and 20s. The next chance for snow looks to be on Tuesday of next week.
