NYSEG crews were hard at work Monday afternoon braving the mix of icy rain and snow to restore power in parts of Putnam County. Earlier In Carmel, crews restored power to 198 residents who faced outages.

While some just simply waited it out, others decided to take out their generators and do what they could to stay warm.

Along with power outages, community members also had to deal with downed branches, icicles, snow and ice.
