Posted: Updated:

New Rochelle dominated McQuaid Jesuit on both sides of the ball to win its third state championship this weekend in Syracuse.

The game was scoreless until the second quarter when New Rochelle’s Gary Phillips III ran it in from 5 yards out and it was 7-0 at the half.

The Huguenots got rolling in the third quarter. Tariq Benjamin hit Anthony Paul Jr. for a 23 yard score.

New Rochelle’s Jessie Parson had a great game. The senior had scores of 49 and 60 yards and finished with 181 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.

The defense kept the Knights out of the end zone. Senior lineman Darren Kabba was a man on a mission. He was in on 13 tackles and led the defense with 4 sacks.

The senior had a career day and was named the most valuable player in the 28-0 victory.
