Haldane coach admits he collected workers comp while coaching basketball
Posted: Updated:A Peekskill man has admitted to collecting workers comp while still coaching high school basketball.
Officials say Tyrone Searight claimed to have injured his knee back in 2016, forcing him out of his job as a MTA bus driver.
However, investigators say surveillance video caught the 49-year-old still coaching girls' basketball for the Haldane Central School District in Cold Spring. He could be seen running, bending, and squatting.
Searight has been sentenced to one year conditional discharge and has paid full restitution to the MTA bus company.
