10-25 mph wind creates single digit feels like temperatures

Posted: Updated:

Record cold temperatures have gripped the Hudson Valley and are producing conditions more expected out of January than November.

News 12 meteorologists say that while it will be sunny today, temperatures will struggle to make it to the freezing mark. However a stiff 10-25 mph breeze will make it feel like it is single digits for most of the day.

The old previous low for the day of 23 degrees, set in 1986, has already been broken with a reading of 21 degrees in White Plains this morning and it may drop a couple more degrees as the day progresses.

While it may get into the upper 20s this afternoon, the wind will make it feel between 15-25 degrees at best.

Wednesday evening will remain cold with highs in the upper teens but the wind will die down.

Thursday and Friday will see a return to temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s. The cold returns on Saturday with highs in the 30s.
