Possible snow Thursday night, wind chills in the teens FridayPosted: Updated:
The Hudson Valley could see snow for the first time this season Thursday night.
News 12 meteorologists say rain will roll through the area through around 11 p.m., and temperatures will plummet from the 50s into the 30s. Snow could start mixing in with the rain around the tail-end of the system.
No significant accumulation is expected, but enough is predicted to make for slick driving conditions. A worst-case scenario is for a coating to a half-inch of accumulation in upper elevations and areas north of I-84.
Friday morning will see temperatures at or around freezing, but the wind chill will make it feel like the teens or low-20s. Roadways could see slick spots with refrozen rain during the morning commute.
Another cold front is expected next week with a chance of snow on Tuesday and highs in the 30s on Wednesday and Thursday.
