Police say they're investigating the homicide of a 36-year-old man in Kingston.

News 12 is told around 2 a.m. Friday, police received a call from a resident reporting a possible homicide on West O'Reilly Street.

Officials say Myron Moye Jr., 36, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mayor Steve Noble says he wants residents to know there is no threat to the public and released a statement that said in part, "I am aware that such horrific acts have resulted in a sense of unease in our community. I want you all to know that we will be doing everything we can to make sure that the individuals responsible are apprehended as soon as possible."

Officials are asking anyone with information to call the Kingston Police Department at 845-331-1671.
