Need a job? Here are some companies hiring for the holidays

Companies around the nation are hiring seasonal workers for the holiday shopping season. 

According to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas seasonal hiring dipped in 2018 and it is predicted to remain stagnant in 2019.

Check out the list below:

Amazon's peak hiring season has started. All Amazon employees in the U.S. earn at least $15 per hour. Last year, Amazon was expected to hire 100,000 season workers. 

Best Buy does not release official figures on seasonal hiring. Each year they hold a nationwide job fair at the beginning of October, but prospect employees can apply online or in-store.

In 2017, Burlington hired approximately 12,000 seasonal workers. 

Costco raised its minimum wage to $14 an hour in 2018.  

FedEx was expected to hire about 55,000 workers in 2018.

Gap is expected to hire 30,000 seasonal employees for its Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Old Navy stores, as well as call and distribution centers for the holiday season.

JCPenney announced plans to hire 37,000 seasonal workers for a variety of jobs. For the second year, the company is offering incentive packages for 16 randomly drawn winners as a way to attract and retain associates.

Kohl's began their seasonal hiring in September, with a plan to hire 90,000 workers nationwide. This year, Kohl's hosted its first-ever national hiring event on Oct. 5.

L Brands is hiring for holiday positions. Flagship brands include Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works.

Just like last year, Macy's is expected to hire approximately 80,000 seasonal workers for positions at its Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores, call centers, distribution centers, and online fulfillment centers nationwide for the 2019 holiday season.

Michaels plans to hire more than 15,000 seasonal positions across its U.S. and Canada stores and distribution centers this holiday season. The company also offers a mentorship program for veterans and a transfer process for employees with an active-duty spouse.

Target is expected to hire more than 130,000 seasonal workers across the nation. All positions start at $13 an hour or more, according to the company.

UPS expects to hire about 100,000 seasonal employees to support the anticipated increase in package volume that will begin in November and continue through Jan. 2020. Through the company’s Earn and Learn program, eligible seasonal employees who are students can earn up to $1,300 towards college expenses, in addition to their hourly pay, for three months of continuous employment.

USPS is currently hiring seasonal workers at select locations. The hourly wages range from $16 to $17.19 with varying shifts and days off.

Last year, Walmart planned to offer more hours to current workers, the same strategy it employed in year's past.

1-800-Flowers plans to hire more than 8,000 associates nationwide for positions across its gourmet food brands.
