Rockland County polls to open early for 1st time

Posted: Updated:

Rockland County Board of Elections employees are preparing for voters to head to the polls for early voting for the first time.

Early voters will cast their ballots at town halls in Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown and Ramapo. Officials will also be rolling out a new electronic poll book, where voters will sign on an iPad, instead of the traditional paper book.

Election officials hope that nine extra days of voting will allow more people to make it to the polls.

Early voting starts Saturday at 9 a.m.
