White Plains teen charged with stealing taxi at gunpoint

Posted: Updated:

Police have identified one of two men accused of stealing a taxi in Yonkers.

Officials say 18-year-old Nickohlas Davis, of White Plains, got into the taxi on William Street and took out a handgun last Thursday.

A second suspect allegedly threatened the driver with a knife before the two took off with the vehicle. The two also took the driver’s cellphone.

Investigators later found the cab in Montrose and arrested Davis. He is charged with one count of first-degree robbery.

Davis was remanded to Westchester County Jail and is due back in court next week.

Yonkers police are asking for help finding the second suspect. Anyone with information can call the detective division at 914-377-7724.
