Posted: Updated:

A state trooper has been cleared in the fatal shooting of a Dutchess County man last September.

The state attorney general's office released its findings today.

Officials say last September police got a call about a drunk man with a knife threatening a woman at a restaurant in Stanfordville.

The say 41-year-old Jaime Lopez Cabrera made what was described as an aggressive movement toward the officers. The officers fired two shots, killing him.

After clearing the officer, the A.G.'s office made several recommendations including more training for all officers and evaluating training protocols.
