Hastings police hold first-ever Coffee-with-a-Cop

Posted: Updated:

It's National Coffee-with-a-Cop Day, and one village is celebrating its first-ever event.

Hastings-on-Hudson police and neighbors enjoyed a cup of Joe on the house at Hastings Center Restaurant.

In its first Coffee-with-a-Cop, the police department hopes to connect with the community in a casual setting. "In today's police world there are a lot of barriers that block public interaction, it's kind of a meet and greet, we want to hear their concerns and well maybe they can hear our concerns," says Hastings-on-Hudson Police Chief David Dosin.

Chief Dosin says he has more ideas coming soon to grow police relationship with the community.
