Man shot in leg during 1 of 2 shootings in New Rochelle

Posted: Updated:

New Rochelle police are investigating two different shootings that happened over the weekend.

Officials say the first shooting happened Saturday at 11:48 p.m. at 361 Main St. Upon arrival, officers discovered three spent 9 mm shell casings and a bullet impact on the maintenance doors to 361 Main St.

Less than an hour later, early Sunday morning, officers responded to Acacia Terrace  and found a man with a superficial bullet wound to his leg.

The victim in that case says he was sitting outside when he was approached by three unknown males. One suspect struck the victim in the head with a handgun, at which time the victim fled toward the house and heard one or two gunshots. It wasn’t until the victim was inside that he realized that he had been shot.

He was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.

At this time, it is unknown if the two incidents are related. No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call new Rochelle police at 914-654-2300.
