Officer suffers multiple breaks in leg after crashing into tree

A police officer in Orange County is now expected to make a full recovery after an accident while he was on-duty.

Woodbury Police Officer James Tremper was trying to pull over a car Tuesday on Ridge Road, but the driver took off, causing the officer to crash into a tree.

Authorities say he had surgery on his leg to repair several broken bones. “His operation was a success; prognosis is for a full recovery after some time off and physical therapy, when I left the hospital yesterday he was in good spirits and they’re expecting to release him on Friday,” says Woodbury Police Lt. Kevin Phillips.

Police are looking for the other car involved in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Woodbury police at (845) 928-2341.
