Child sexual abuse charges dismissed against Bronxville priest

Posted: Updated:

Charges of child sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child have been dismissed against a former Bronxville parish priest.

The attorney for the Rev. Thomas Kreiser says the charges were dismissed following a hearing this morning in County Court in White Plains.

In a statement, the DA’s office said it filed a motion to dismiss the case, because it did not feel it could prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Kreiser was accused of inappropriately touching a 10-year-old girl on three occasions last September on the grounds of St. Joseph’s parish school.

His attorney said there was more than enough evidence to indicate the incident did not happen.

Kreiser remains a priest but has not performed any priestly duties since he was removed from the parish by the archdiocese.
