NYPD sergeant suspended after alleged shoplifting spree in Yonkers

Posted: Updated:

An NYPD sergeant has been suspended after going on an alleged shoplifting spree in Westchester.

Police say instead of taking out her wallet to pay, Eva Pena stuffed about $350 worth of items in her purse at a Macy's in Yonkers Tuesday evening.

Authorities say Pena didn't get far. As she tried to leave the store, she was arrested.

Pena now faces petit larceny charges and was suspended without pay from her job as an NYPD sergeant.
