Three Hasidic men from Orange County say they were attacked Friday evening.
Yossi Gestetner, of the Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council, says three Hasidic men were attacked while walking home from prayer with their families in Highland Mills.
News 12 is told two of the victims were walking near Schunnemunk Road when passengers of a speeding vehicle threw a potato and an unidentified object at them. Just about a mile away near Pheasant Run, the group allegedly struck again -- spraying a liquid substance into the third man's eyes.
Gestetner believes they were targeted based on their faith.
Woodbury police told News 12 the victim who filed a complaint Friday night was struck in the face by an unidentified object, but was not uninjured.
They are still searching for the vehicle, which has been described as a blue sports car with yellow headlights and a loud exhaust.
